We could not keep our doors open or provide education and services without the support of our communities.
Quota of East Tawas invited us to a Baby Shower! It was delightful! We arrived to find the hall decorated and food and drinks available. A decorated baby cake and other assorted desserts. We played inventive games for prizes and took part in a 50/50 raffle. The Quota ladies brought wrapped presents for our Center and split the 50/50 profits with Harbor Lights. It was a night of blessings and laughter! Kudos ladies!
Our area churches have been so supportive. Tawas Methodist Church provided over course of a month mountains of baby items. St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hale donated 1,081 diapers, 664 wipes and some onesies. Karen S. from Zion Lutheran Church in Tawas City spearheaded a diaper drive. She encouraged her congregation to honor their parents by donating diapers between Mother's Day and Father's Day as a way to say, " Thank You for giving me Life!" They collected 1,970 diapers. Holy Family Catholic Church sent a generous check as did the Knights of Columbus Council 5083 and their hierarchy sent additional check. Our donor base has increased, and individuals and groups are stepping forward. The above list is just a small acknowledgement of gifts we have received recently. We are so appreciative! As we prepare to make our largest investment, the acquisition of buildings, we know that we need to balance monies to cover the loan and continue to meet our operational budget. We cannot accomplish this without the help of our friends and Warriors for Life. Thank you to each and every one of you for partnering with us in this ministry for life.
